Simon Armitage: Blossomise

Please join the Poet Laureate for a very special evening of readings to celebrate his Sunday Times bestseller Blossomise, which brings new perspectives and energy to a timeless poetic subject.

From a crashed Ford Capri wrapped around the immovable trunk of a cherry tree, to saplings flourishing among skyscrapers and urban sprawl, the fizz and froth of the annual blossom display is explored here both as an exuberant emblem of the natural world and a nervous marker of our vulnerable climate.

Blossomise was commissioned by the National Trust and is a glorious collaboration between the Poet Laureate and the well-known illustrator Angela Harding. This unmissable evening will feature screen projections of the book’s stunning artwork alongside the poetry readings.
