AJ West - The Deadly Inheritance of Everest MacDonald

AJ West is heading back to the festival to talk about his new novel, The Deadly Inheritance of Everest MacDonald, inspired by the notorious real-life murder of celebrated Victorian actor William Terris, who was stabbed outside London's Adelphi Theatre in 1897 - and whose ghost is said to haunt the theatre, and Covent Garden Underground station, to this day.

AJ West's bestselling debut novel The Spirit Engineer won the Historical Writers' Association Debut Crown Award. His second novel, The Betrayal of Thomas True, debuted at No 2 in the Sunday Times bestseller list, and won the CWA Historical Dagger. An award-winning BBC newsreader and reporter, he has written for national newspapers and regularly appears on network TV. A passionate historical researcher, he writes at the London Library and museum archives around the world. His first work of non-fiction, How Queer Bookshops Changed the World, was released to great acclaim earlier this year.
